So, how is my year of change going? I would say rather quickly in some aspects and very slow in others. I say quickly because it has already been over three months since my job ended and I still don't have a new position. Of course I just now started to seriously search for one so I can't complain about that. I have been enjoying time with with the g-kids doing summer time things.
It is going slowly in the weight loss department, once again that is on me as well. I am just now getting a hold on my eating habits and have started losing weight. I joined a gym as well and I am surprised to discover that I kind of like it. I work out with a trainer once a week and do cardio an additional five days a week. So I am at the gym every day except Sunday. So hopefully the weight will start coming off a little better.
I also had surgery on my left foot in April and am still in the recovery process for that as well. Went to the doc yesterday and he said that everything is progressing normally. I will be going back to physical therapy because the scar tissue needs to be broken up which entails manipulating the tissue using a high amount of pressure and I can't do that to myself. It is painful. I know that this is minor compared to what other people go through for surgeries and injuries but I will freely admit that I am a wimp. I will go through this stage without complaining. It will pass.
I have one more hurdle to get through though and this one is more a matter of the soul. I am searching for a new church. Not because I am unhappy with the one I currently attend but because my heart is being lead in a different ministry direction which means that I must move on. I need to actively start that search as well and stop Internet surfing and actually start visiting. I get so timid when I have to go do something by myself for the first time. (I wouldn't have gone into the gym for the first time without my sister taking me with her).
Overall life is good. I just have to stop procrastinating and move forward in a more focused manner
God's Blessings to everyone who stops by to read.

Missing friends...
It has been an incredibly sad year for me so far. Thursday we will celebrate the life of Lesa Latham Godsey
who fought a long and difficult fight against cancer; and I will I have
had to say goodbye to my third friend this year as they relocate to
their permanent home in the presence of our awesome God. Although I
rejoice for them I feel their absence.

Reading Proverbs Devotionally……
Normally I start my day by reading Proverbs. There are 31 Proverbs in all and it makes the perfect daily devotional. So today is October 21 therefore Proverbs 21. Sorry if I am over simplifying.
Today, because I was piddling around I didn’t make myself enough time to read devotionally before I left for work so I didn’t pick up the Word until I went to lunch. The verses today just blow me away. There are so many that just jumped off of the page at me today. There are some that are pricking my conscience and then there are some that are just plain encouraging. I love it when I am having issues with someone or something and I pick up the Word and it speaks to my heart in such an intimate way that I know that God planned it that way. It is just way to perfect to be by chance.
I have copied today’s proverb below and highlighted some of the verses that have spoken to me in one way or another. I could write about each and every one ….but that would take forever. I would rather you do your own reading and ask our Heavenly Father to speak in a unique way just to you. Enjoy!
Proverbs 21 (New International Version)
1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD;
he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases.
2 All a man's ways seem right to him,
but the LORD weighs the heart.
3 To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart,
the lamp of the wicked, are sin!
5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit
as surely as haste leads to poverty.
6 A fortune made by a lying tongue
is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare.
7 The violence of the wicked will drag them away,
for they refuse to do what is right.
8 The way of the guilty is devious,
but the conduct of the innocent is upright.
9 Better to live on a corner of the roof
than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.
10 The wicked man craves evil;
his neighbor gets no mercy from him.
11 When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom;
when a wise man is instructed, he gets knowledge.
12 The Righteous One takes note of the house of the wicked
and brings the wicked to ruin.
13 If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor,
he too will cry out and not be answered.
14 A gift given in secret soothes anger,
and a bribe concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath.
15 When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous
but terror to evildoers.
16 A man who strays from the path of understanding
comes to rest in the company of the dead.
17 He who loves pleasure will become poor;
whoever loves wine and oil will never be rich.
18 The wicked become a ransom for the righteous,
and the unfaithful for the upright.
19 Better to live in a desert
than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife.
20 In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil,
but a foolish man devours all he has.
21 He who pursues righteousness and love
finds life, prosperity and honor.
22 A wise man attacks the city of the mighty
and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust.
23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue
keeps himself from calamity.
24 The proud and arrogant man-"Mocker" is his name;
he behaves with overweening pride.
25 The sluggard's craving will be the death of him,
because his hands refuse to work.
26 All day long he craves for more,
but the righteous give without sparing.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable—
how much more so when brought with evil intent!
28 A false witness will perish,
and whoever listens to him will be destroyed forever.
29 A wicked man puts up a bold front,
but an upright man gives thought to his ways.
30 There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan
that can succeed against the LORD.
31 The horse is made ready for the day of battle,
but victory rests with the LORD.
