I have not posted for a very long time. The babies are now a year old. Madison was born on March 29, 2006 and Jacob was born on April 11, 2007. I don't know what life would be like without my "Grand Kids". Now there are four of them! Praise God for healthy and happy children. Jacob started walking when he was about 10 months old but Madison couldn't care less whether she ever walks.
Jodie, my middle child, got engaged New Years Eve 2007 and is getting married on Labor Day weekend. She has chosen to get married in a wedding chapel in Helen, GA. It is a very nice place and the reception will be held there as well. The wedding chapel concept is pretty cool cause you pick your package, write a check and let them do most of the work. It is so much easier than how we did Jen's wedding. Jodie's paternal step-grandmother (what a title) is going to make all the flowers and give them to her as a wedding gift and her roommate is making the wedding cake. I now have to rent a cabin up there so that we have a full size refregerator to put the cake in. The most diffifult details are just the logistics of it being out of town but that is just fine with me. It is still much less stressful than having to plan and do the work for the whole thing yourself.
The second big event of the year began when my uncle in Illinois passed away in early February. Mom and Dad flew up to go to the funeral and spend some time with my Aunt afterwards. Dad was sick the whole time they were gone and when he came back to Georgia his doctor thought he might have pneumonia and sent him to the hospital for and x-ray. What happened next made me feel like someone had socked me in the stomach and took my breath away for about three days. He was diagnosed with lung cancer. He had the upper right lobe of his lung removed on March 23 and God answered our prayers. The suregion was able to remove the whole tumor and the pathology report on the lymphnodes came back negative. At this point just a little over a month later his oncologist has says that it appears that there is no more cancer!
There is more but I will have to post again later as it is time to return to my work here in the office. Break time is over. :-)
